Arsenal are reportedly in the hunt for Atletico Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez, according to reports in the Spanish press, in news that follows on from apparent interest in Saul Niguez.
Could the Gunners be set for a double raid?
El Mundo Deportivo claim Arsenal are giving serious thought to a move for Hernandez in the upcoming summer transfer market, though will have to fight for the player's signature as Lyon are also keen.
Diego Simeone has put together the most stringent defence in Europe, with Giminez and Diego Godin forming a tough centre back pairing.
Lucas, still just 20-years-old, has played third fiddle to the aforementioned centre backs, but has made 13 appearances in all competitions - two of which have come in at left back.
Born in Marseille, Lucas has represented France at U16, U18, U19 and U20 level but requires regular first team football if he is to continue his development at a senior level.
According to reports, Lucas would consider a move away from the Vicente Calderon - and there may be a vacancy next to fellow Frenchman Laurent Koscielny due to Per Mertesacker's dubious future.
Lucas, of course, is not the only Atletico player Arsene Wenger is rumoured to be keen on as utility star Saul Niguez has been a long-term target.
Renowned for his defensive contribution and physical strengths, Niguez - just 21 - can play in many positions, predominantly in the middle of the park but also on the wings and even in defence.
Lucas would be the cheapest and could be bought for less than £10m, but a double raid could set the Gunners back over £30m.
