Mainz welcome Bayern Munich to the Coface Arena in the Rheinland-Pfalz for a Bundesliga match scheduled to kick-off at 19:30 GMT on Friday, December 2 and you can find all the live stream information including kick-off time in our match preview right here.
There may be eight places and ten Bundesliga points that separate Bayern Munich in second from Mainz, in ninth, but that gap may feel closer than it has for some while as the Bavarian giants have struggled to assert their dominance in recent months and Mainz have no problem having a go at their opponents.
Bayern have won just two of their last five games in all competitions having dropped points against Hoffenheim, having lost to Borussia Dortmund and then again to FC Rostov.
Most recently, though, they bounced back by edging Bayer Leverkusen at the Allianz Arena and are still unbeaten in 21 of their last 22 games in the Bundesliga.
They also enjoy a strong head-to-head record over Mainz having won four of their last five meetings, however, it is Mainz who triumphed in the most recent game - a 2-1 victory in March, earlier this year.
In that match, Jairo Samerio gave Mainz a first half lead as he capitalised on a Giulio Donati assist and scored in the 26th minute.
Arjen Robben via Arturo Vidal managed to get one back for Bayern but they enjoyed parity for just 20 minutes before Jhon Cordoba scored an 86th minute winner as Mainz left Munich with maximum points.
If Mainz are to repeat that result at the Coface Arena then they must pressurise Bayern, a side who struggle to nullify opponents who create constant chances.
Bayern, though, do still have more advantages as they have superior finishers, play excellently on the counter and adhere to a short-passing and possession style of football that works well down the wings and by using through ball tactics.
With Bayern three points behind league leaders Leipzig, manager Carlo Ancelotti will be determined to not drop any more needless points before the winter break.
