In the latest Atletico Madrid transfer news, renowned forward Antoine Griezmann has indicated that, though he is content at the Vicente Calderon, he is warm to a Premier League move which has reignited speculation he could join the likes of Arsenal or Manchester United.
Antoine Griezmann first burst onto the football scene as a teenage wonderkid at Real Sociedad yet it was his transfer to Atletico Madrid in 2014 that helped him develop from a player with huge potential into a superstar who had realised it.
A hard-working forward with natural technique, 20:20 vision and top-rate finishing, Griezmann is a constant threat in all games regardless of opposition. He is quick, can create as well as score and can player on either wing or up front.
Griezmann is considered to be one of the greatest Spain-based players outside of Barcelona and Real Madrid and therefore perpetually attracts attention from potential suitors, with a plethora of Premier League sides showing interest in the last 12 months.
During a recent interview with Telefoot, as per the Daily Mail, Griezmann indicated that he would never cross the city divide and join Real Madrid. This potentially leaves the door open for a Barcelona switch. However, he shot down a move to Paris St-Germain as he said he would prefer to remain at Atletico or move to England.
"No transfer between Real and Atletico, there is a pact," said Griezmann. "PSG is interesting but not the Ligue 1 [as] I prefer La Liga or the Premier League, but I do not have an objective to leave."
The news will no doubt reignite interest from clubs like Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea as all three clubs would relish the opportunity to add Antoine to their ranks.
Atletico are next in action on Wednesday evening as they travel to Guijuelo for a Copa del Rey match but it is unclear if the Frenchman will pay as manager Diego Simeone may use the midweek match as an opportune moment to rest key players.
