Bayern Munich vs. Arsenal predictions for Wednesday’s Champions League clash at Allianz Arena. Arsenal travel to in-form Bayern Munich for another thriller clash looming, hoping to cause an upset this time around. Read on for all our free predictions.
Bayern Munich vs. Arsenal
Bayern Munich will host the Gunners for their Champions League clash today, hoping they can outclass the rivals in front of the home fans and lock a sizeable advantage ahead of their trip to London. However, we don’t expect as convincing home win as some would suggest and Arsenal could hold this one to a thriller finish at Emirates.
Bayern Munich vs. Arsenal Top 3 Predictions
While we’re surely in for an exciting clash where Arsenal look set to challenge the Bavarian giant, Bayern to earn a win on the day comes at 4/9 and has been ranked banker bet by many. However, we’ll now turn our attention to other markets and rather try finding value elsewhere.
To Score in First Ten Minutes
We have indeed seen some big clashes as the teams met ten times over the past 17 years. More interestingly, there have been some shock starts to their head-to-head encounters (7’ goal by Toni Kroos in 2013, ‘3 goal by Giroud the same year, and Lewandowski’s ’10 strike to name just a few), and we do feel we might be in for another furious start here.
With that in mind, we’ll now stick our necks out for in-form Arjen Robben (who netted two in his last four appearances) to kick it off and bag an early goal, with the longshot that he can open the scoresheet in the first ten minutes.
1st Away Goalscorer
Although we do believe Bayern can turn this one their way and travel to London with an advantage, we do feel Arsenal will make the scoresheet as well and keep the clash alive. Alexis Sanchez is thus our top pick to make an impact here, as he’s returned to his goalscoring form with two goals against Hull last week, and we’ll back him to be the first scorer for the visitors on.
For those keeping the faith Arsenal can net at least a goal and return home with a lively chance of progressing to Quarter-finals, Asian Handicap and Arsenal to win +1.5 does seem a perfect pick. Despite suffering a thrashing loss on their last away day at this ground (5-1 in November 2015), the Gunners have pulled this off in three of five matches there! Bagging a lot of away goals recently (15 in their last five matches on the road), it certainly does seem they’re ready to challenge Bayern this time around.
