Jelle van Damme could quit Wolves

Football News Staff - 29 Sep 2010

Wolves defender Jelle van Damme has admitted he is struggling to settle in England.

The Belgian left-back joined Wolves from Anderlecht in a £2.5m move in the summer, but he has failed to last a full 90 minutes due to a string of injuries.

And the 26-year-old, who had a spell with Southampton earlier in his career, has revealed he is finding it hard to adapt to life in England and is missing his homeland.

Van Damme told Het Laatste Nieuws: “My adjustment is difficult not sporting but socially.

“My wife is still in Belgium and is expecting our second child in November. Even if they would be here, I miss the life I had in Belgium.

“Anderlecht in Belgium will always be my club, I’m still in touch with the coach and some players.”
