David Jones still wants new Wolves deal

Football News Staff - 20 Sep 2010

Midfielder David Jones insists he wants to extend his deal with Wolves.

The 25-year-old is in the final year of his contract with the Molineux outfit and talks over a new deal have now been put on hold after both parties failed to reach an agreement.

However, Jones maintains he wants to stay with the club and insists the lack of an agreement has not caused any problems between him and manager Mick McCarthy.

Jones said: “There is not an issue between me and the manager. He doesn’t deal with the contract side of things.

“He wants me to sign. Obviously I want to get it sorted. I want to stay with the club. I have been happy during my time here.

“We said we were leaving things as they were and would be coming back to the table in a couple of months. That is definitely still the case.

“It has proved to be an excellent move for me. The manager has said publicly that he wants me to stay so hopefully it will get sorted out.”
