Wigan have completed the signing of right-back Ronnie Stam from Dutch champions FC Twente.
The Latics are thought to have paid around £3m for the 26-year-old defender, who has penned a three-year deal with the club.
Stam spent the last two years under former England boss Steve McLaren having joined FC Twente from NAC Breda in 2008.
He is now expected to fill the berth left by Mario Melchiot, who joined Umm Salal earlier this summer.
