Wigan winger Charles N’Zogbia admits he sees his time at the DW Stadium as a “stepping stone” to bigger things.
N’Zogbia was expected to leave the Latics in the summer but failed to agree terms with Birmingham after a fee of £9m had been agreed between the two clubs.
The Frenchman has since produced some fine performances for Wigan and has apparently attracted the interest of Liverpool, Juventus and Marseille.
And N’Zogbia told the Daily Star: “Wigan’s just a stepping stone. They know very well I’m not a player who is going to stay at the club.
“I give 100% on the pitch, but, if there’s a bigger club that wants me, the manager and the president have always told me the door is open for discussion.”
And the winger has admitted a return to his native France with Ligue 1 giants Marseille is “not something you refuse”.
