Wigan have accepted an offer from Birmingham for winger Charles N’Zogbia.
The 24-year-old Frenchman is believed to have told Latics manager Roberto Martinez earlier this summer that he wanted to leave the DW Stadium, and Blues had an initial bid turned down.
Boss Alex McLeish admitted during the week that his club had made an improved offer, and Wigan have now given N’Zogbia the green light to begin talks with the St Andew’s outfit.
A club statement read: “Wigan Athletic can confirm that they have accepted a much improved offer from Birmingham City for France winger Charles N’Zogbia, which has now met the club’s valuation.
“The player has now been given permission to speak with Birmingham.”
