West Ham have completed the signing of defender Winston Reid from Danish club FC Midtjylland.
The 22-year-old has penned a three-year deal after joining the Hammers for an undisclosed fee.
Reid told the club’s official website: “It has been a mad couple of weeks and the last couple of days have been pretty hectic, so I am just happy to be here now.
“I am pretty decent fitness-wise. I had a game last Sunday I am in pretty good nick.”
Reid made a name for himself as part of New Zealand’s World Cup squad, netting a last-minute equaliser against Slovakia and playing a part in the impressive draws against Italy and Paraguay.
He is West Ham boss Avram Grant’s fifth signing of the summer, following Thomas Hitzlsperger, Pablo Barrera, Frederic Piquionne and Tal Ben Haim to Upton Park.
