West Ham have signed teenager Sebastian Lletget to a professional contract.
The 18-year-old midfielder was spotted by Hammers scouts in California five years ago and has trained with the club on and off since then.
And Lletget, who put pen-to-paper on his birthday, is now looking forward to working his way into manager Avram Grant’s future plans.
He told West Ham’s official website: “In the upcoming season, I really want to get established and comfortable and play for the reserves, then maybe I’ll get spotted by the manager.
“Now I have signed I don’t want to rush things and put extra pressure on myself. I’m just going to take it step-by-step, day-by-day.”
