West Ham have completed the loan signing of Tal Ben Haim – and revealed a World Cup star could be on the way too.
Defender Ben Haim has finally been reunited with former Portsmouth boss Avram Grant following lengthy negotiations and will remain at Upton Park until January.
The Israeli defender joins Thomas Hitzlsperger, Pablo Barrera and Frederic Piquionne as new faces at the Hammers – but the London club hope there is more to come.
A statement on their official website read: “With the ink barely dry on Ben Haim’s contract, club officials stepped up their bid to secure a fifth signing this close-season and hope to have the deal finalised with the next 72 hours.
“The potential recruit is a young international who represented his country with distinction at the 2010 World Cup.”
