Former midfielder Paul Ince has revealed he still has dreams of managing West Ham.
Ince has been a hate figure for Hammers fans ever since he was photographed wearing a Manchester United shirt before he had completed his move to Old Trafford in 1989.
But, in an exclusive interview with talkSPORT, the former Macclesfield, MK Dons and Blackburn boss insisted he has no ill-feeling towards West Ham supporters despite years of abuse.
And admits he would one day like to return to Upton Park.
He said: “I’ve always loved West Ham and always loved West Ham fans. I loved playing there, it’s a fantastic club, it’s a family club the way they bring the players through.
“It’s funny, when Zola left (my wife) Claire said to me ‘could you go back there?’
“I said it would be a shock. But it was in my head that one day I would go back there as manager because I started my career there as a kid.
“I still love the club, whether the fans might think completely different that’s fair enough, but it’s always something that’s in my mind.”
