West Ham United manager Avram Grant has been handed a two-match touchline ban for comments about a match official.
The 56-year-old was angered by referee Mike Jones’ display in the Hammers’ 2-1 FA Cup defeat at Stoke City last month, claiming the official had been given “everything” to the Potters after failing to spot a handball in the build-up to West Ham’s goal.
Grant had said: “Until they scored (the second) goal he gave fouls, a penalty, everything for them.
“Maybe he felt a little bit guilty. I think it was the effect of the first goal for us.”
The Israeli has now been found guilty of improper conduct and, as well as a £6,000 fine, he will be missing from the dugout when the relegation-threatened Hammers face Bolton Wanderers and fellow strugglers Aston Villa.
