West Brom manager Roberto Di Matteo remains surprised there was no competition to sign Peter Odemwingie.
Odemwingie has proved a revelation since his summer arrival from Lokomotiv Moscow, producing a string of fine performances and netting three times so far for the Baggies.
And Albion boss Di Matteo admits it still shocks him that no other club tried to sign the Nigeria international.
He told Gazzetta dello Sport: “It’s amazing how the big clubs snubbed Odwemwingie.
“He has made 45 appearances for Nigeria and went to the World Cup. He wanted to play in the Premier League after Lokomotiv Moscow.
“Now he has scored three goals in five matches, which is very good.”
