West Brom are on the verge of completing a deal for Lokomotiv Moscow winger Peter Odemwingie.
The Russian club revealed on Tuesday that Odemwingie had agreed terms with the Baggies, and boss Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed he is now awaiting international clearance for the Nigeria international.
He told the Birmingham Mail: “We are still sorting out his visa so he’s not here yet. Hopefully he’ll join us ASAP. That will give the players a lift.
“He’s got a great CV and he’s a good player. We need a few new faces and it lift everyone when you see a player like him coming in.
“I’m pleased he is joining us because I’m sure he will be able to help us. He has got great pace.
“He is two-footed and has good experience at a very high level. He’s played as a striker and winger in his career.”
And Di Matteo also revealed Albion are trying to sign Red Bull Salzburg winger Somen Tchyoi.
He added: “We’re still working on it but we haven’t finished it yet.”
