Robbie Keane fee agreed by Tottenham and Birmingham City

Football News Staff - 6 Jan 2011
Tottenham have agreed a fee with Birmingham City to sell striker Robbie Keane, boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed.

Reports on Wednesday evening claimed Spurs had agreed a £7m fee for the out-of-favour frontman and while he would not confirm the figure involved, Redknapp did admit that Keane can leave White Hart Lane for St Andrews if he wishes.

The Spurs boss told Sky Sports News: “I think Birmingham have made an offer for Robbie - I'm not sure, around about £7m or whatever for him - and it's up to Robbie really.

“If it's a move he fancies, we wouldn't stand in his way.

“But he's only going to go permanently - he's not going to go on loan anywhere, we're not going to loan him out again, he'd been on loan last year at Celtic.

“Robbie either stays with us and plays for his place or he moves on permanently but he's certainly not up for a loan again.

“It's up to Robbie at the end of the day what he does.”
