Gareth Bale set to start against AC Milan

Football News Staff - 7 Mar 2011
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is set to name Gareth Bale in his starting XI for the Champions League clash with AC Milan.

Bale made his return from a back injury during the 3-3 draw with Wolves at the weekend, featuring for just over 20 minutes at Molineux, and showed no sign of the problem that had sidelined him for six weeks.

And Redknapp is now poised to hand the 21-year-old Wales international a starting role when Spurs look to wrap up a memorable victory over AC Milan at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night.

He told Sky Sports: “(Gareth) looked alright didn't he (against Wolves)?

“He kept running 70 yards with the ball and he looked like he was OK to me.

“I don't think there's any problem with Gareth. He's fine. It will do him the world of good to come on and play like that.”

Tottenham take a one-goal advantage into the second leg having recorded a surprising 1-0 victory at the San Siro last month.
