Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has revealed David Beckham could join the club on loan by Sunday.
Beckham has been linked with a temporary return to Europe during the Major League Soccer off-season, and Spurs are one of several Premier League clubs interested in signing the 35-year-old.
Officials from the White Hart Lane club have been in negotiations with their Los Angeles Galaxy counterparts this week, and Redknapp believes Beckham could be in attendance when Spurs face Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup on Sunday.
Redknapp said: “I think he could be here on Sunday possibly if what I'm being told on the grapevine is right. The clubs are talking and there is a good chance it will happen.
“Hopefully he will come to the game, I'm sure. I'm not 100% sure but he could be here on Sunday.”
If Tottenham do wrap up the deal this week, Beckham could make his debut against former club Manchester United a week on Sunday.
