Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has confirmed his interest in Los Angeles Galaxy star David Beckham.
Beckham is expected to make a return to Europe on loan during the Major League Soccer off-season, and there are no shortage of Premier League clubs keen on signing the 35-year-old.
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed his interest in Beckham and Blackburn Rovers are also eager to bring the former England captain back to the Premier League.
And now Black Cats boss Bruce has expressed his interest in being reunited with his former Manchester United team-mate.
Bruce told Sky Sports News: “I've known him a long time. I have had a conversation with him and I think that conversation remains private.
“If you want to say we're interested, yes we can be - I think there will be a few but I think it's up to David.
“I'm not so sure what he's up to really but I think he'd probably prefer to stay in London
“I think it's his overall experience, let's be fair one thing he has got is he's still got ability, he's a good player.
“We've seen last year and the year before when he's gone out to Milan, he's got something to offer and for a short term, he can give the club an injection if you like, because of his presence, because of him being around the dressing room and of course he's got that little bit of quality as well.
“He can give you an instant lift in your dressing room somebody of his stature and of course he's still got a bit of ability in the locker.”
