Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has revealed he has made a bid for an unnamed player.
Bruce is eager to add to his squad before the new Premier League campaign gets underway, and has recently been linked with Nelson Valdez and Stephen Ireland.
But while stopping short of naming the player in question, Bruce did confirm he has made an offer to another club.
He told Sky Sports News: “We have got a couple of irons in the fire, we have put a bid in today (Tuesday) for a player.
“I am not going to tell you who, we hope we can make inroads in it.
“I would envisage we will get a couple of new faces in before the season starts, I would have thought.”
