Ahmed Elmohamady open to Sunderland stay

Football News Staff - 20 Oct 2010

On-loan winger Ahmed Elmohamady has admitted he would consider making a permanent move to Sunderland.

The 23-year-old has been in impressive form for the Black Cats since making the temporary season-long move from ENPPI in the summer, and his performances have reportedly earned him the attention of Manchester United an Arsenal.

But Elmohamady has hinted he would be happy to remain at the Stadium of Light following his loan, and his comments are sure to delight boss Steve Bruce who has made no secret of his desire to keep the Egyptian.

Elmohamady said: “I like the vibe here. It’s a nice place and people are so friendly. Everyone has been so helpful, especially here at the club. I feel as if I’m back home in Egypt.

“I want to keep on playing in the Premier League, not for a year or two only. I want to do well for myself and my country.

“The gaffer is a very good manager, and he’s so respectful. He likes commitment. He trusts his players and we should repay that trust.”
