Manager Tony Pulis maintains Stoke will not increase their offer to Cardiff midfielder Joe Ledley.
The Wales international appeared set to sign for Celtic earlier this week after passing a medical, but he has returned to Wales without signing what is reportedly a four-year deal paying £25,000 per week.
However, Pulis insists the news will not make the Potters up their offer, believed to be between £15,000 and £20,000 per week.
He told The Sentinel: “As far as I was concerned, Joe had signed for Celtic and that was the end of the matter. He came and spoke to use and we left it for them to come back. It is not a case of us chasing after him.
“I think he is a decent player. He had a bad injury last year which curtailed his form and the amount of appearances he made, but we would like to have him here.
“But we have made our pitch for him, if he wants to go to Celtic then we can’t do anything about that.”
