Stoke have make a formal complaint over Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger’s criticism of defender Ryan Shawcross.
Wenger accused the Potters player of turning football into rugby following Stoke’s defeat to Tottenham last weekend, angering opposite number Tony Pulis.
And the Stoke manager confirmed the club has sent letters of complaint to Arsenal, the Premier League and the Football League.
He said: “The club is desperately disappointed with the comments which Wenger has come out with, especially the comments about Shawcross.
“We think they are out of order and you don’t expect it from a person of Wenger’s esteem. The club will deal with it in the right and proper manner.”
