Stoke chairman Peter Coates has admitted the club are hoping to sign Monaco striker Eidur Gudjohnsen.
The Potters are keen to sign the former Chelsea and Tottenham man, 31, on a season long loan now that he has fallen down the pecking order at Stade Louis II.
Coates told The Sentinel: “We have inquired about him.
“We have talked about getting him on a 12-month loan because we think he good be a good player for 12 months, and maybe after that.
“But whether it happens of not, or how far we will get, we just don’t know yet.”
