Stoke manager Tony Pulis is waiting to learn the extent of the shoulder injury suffered by Ricardo Fuller on Sunday.
The 30-year-old Jamaica forward appeared to dislocate his right shoulder late in the 2-1 victory at Newcastle and was immediately taken to hospital.
Potters boss Pulis is now hoping Fuller will make a swift return to action, having seen the player suffer the same injury not long ago.
He told the club’s official website: “We’re just keeping our fingers crossed that they will be able to just pop it back in.
“When Ric dislocated his shoulder a couple of seasons ago, he was only out for 10 days and so we’re hoping that will be the case again. If he’s out any longer it will be a massive blow to us because he is a game-changer.
“He’s as good as anyone at coming on and making a difference, and he was bright and fresh before the injury.”
