Stoke City flop Eidur Gudjohnsen had joined Premier League rivals Fulham on loan until the end of the season.
Former Chelsea and Barcelona star Gudjohnsen arrived at the Britannia Stadium on a one-year deal last summer, but he has failed to make any notable impression since then.
The Iceland international has made only five substitute appearances for the Potters so far this season, and manager Tony Pulis admits it has just not worked out for the 32-year-old in the West Midlands.
Pulis told Stoke’s official website: “It has been an incredibly frustrating time for Eidur.
“But he has been an outstanding professional and a great influence around the place in his time here.
“Unfortunately, he didn't get the games that he needed to build up his match fitness, but this loan move presents him with a chance to do that.”
