Roma will continue their pursuit of Serie A’s top four when they entertain Palermo today.
The Giallorossi currently occupy sixth in the Italian top tier, the final qualifying spot for the Europa League, but they are just four points behind fourth-placed Lazio, who hold the final Champions League berth.
Vincenzo Montella’s side will be keen to haul in their fierce city rivals over the final six games of the campaign and know they cannot afford any more slip-ups if they are to achieve that goal, starting with Palermo today.
Palermo are just two places behind their hosts heading into the 33rd round of fixtures this season, but there is a nine-point gap between the two teams making it very difficult for Delio Rossi’s men to clinch a place in next season’s Europa League.
While Roma will be looking to build on their 2-1 victory at Udinese, Palermo will be hoping to end a two-match winless run since their surprise 1-0 win over leaders AC Milan last month.
