Parma v Inter Milan live preview

Football News Staff - 16 Apr 2011
Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has given manager Leonardo and his players a vote of confidence ahead of tonight’s trip to Parma.

Inter’s defence of their Champions League crown came to an end with a 7-3 aggregate defeat to FC Schalke earlier this week, and their hopes of retaining the Serie A title are dwindling week-by-week with bitter rivals AC Milan five points ahead of them with just six games remaining.

But instead of being critical, Moratti said in a statement: “I want to thank my team and all of my players who in the last few years and in our current season have brought to all Inter fans, including myself, so much joy and success for which we are all very proud.

“With the certainty that we will rediscover our strength and quality in order to achieve prestigious aims this year, I am convinced, together with the fans, that the coach and the team will bring us even more satisfaction.”

While Inter were beaten in midweek by Schalke, they do head into this game on the back of a 2-0 win over Chievo in their most recent domestic outing. Parma, meanwhile, are just one point above the relegation zone following back-to-back defeats at the hands of Bari and Lazio.
