Palermo coach Delio Rossi has warned his team not to get caught up in their current league position.
Rosanero have been one of the surprise packages of this season to sit fifth in Serie A, just two points behind Lazio in the final qualifying spot for the Champions League.
But, speaking ahead of Sunday’s visit of Fiorentina, Rossi insisted there are far too many games remaining for his side to start thinking they have earned European football for next season.
He said: “There is no point in looking at the table right now.
“Things can turn when you least expect and that is why my players have to remain focused.
“We have a squad full of talent, our future, though, is in our own hands.”
Palermo head into this match on the back of a 4-2 victory at Lecce last time out, while Fiorentina, who have not won on the road since last March, drew 1-1 at Parma.
