Palermo v AC Milan live preview

Football News Staff - 19 Mar 2011
AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has warned his side against underestimating hosts Palermo today.

Milan currently top Serie A by five points, with reigning champions Inter Milan in second place, and they are expected to add another three points to their haul against a Palermo side that has lost their last five games.

However, Allegri believes it will not be that straightforward as Milan look to win at Stadio Renzo Barbera for the first time since 2006.

He said: “We face a very difficult game because Palermo has great technical qualities in midfield and in attack.

“You have the likes of (Fabrizio) Miccoli, (Javier) Pastore, (Abel) Hernandez.

“Our rivals have lost their last five league games and that means we will have to be even more careful.”

He added: “We are still favourites for the scudetto. We have a five point advantage on Inter with nine games to go.

“It may not seem much but it's an important gap.”

While AC Milan head into this match on the back of a shock 1-1 draw with rock-bottom Bari, Palermo’s losing run continued with a 1-0 defeat at Genoa last time out.
