Napoli v Juventus live preview

Football News Staff - 9 Jan 2011
Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero is confident his side will bounce back immediately from the shock defeat to Parma.

Juve’s top-four challenge suffered a surprise setback against mid-table Parma earlier this week, with Luigi Delneri ’s men crashing to a 4-1 defeat and having Felipe Melo sent off after just 17 minutes.

But club legend Del Piero is certain they can produce an immediate response at the expense of third-placed Napoli on Sunday.

The 36-year-old said: “We made many mistakes and we failed to react. Any sending off affects the game, especially when it arrives early on.

“But when faced with adversity, we must respond and we should have done that after Melo was shown the red card.

“Parma played a fantastic game and they deserved the win.

“It's tough to lose our first game of the year, in front of our home fans and by such a margin. But now we cannot make the mistake to be conditioned by that game.

“We have to be solid in order to recover the enthusiasm and strength because we have a lot of games left to play.”

While Juventus were embarrassed on their home turf, Napoli suffered a 3-1 defeat at reigning champions Inter Milan.
