Inter Milan coach Leonardo has told his team ‘no more slip-ups’ if they want to retain their Serie A crown.
Inter’s recent revival came to a shuddering halt at the weekend, with the 1-0 defeat to Juventus leaving them in fourth place, eight points behind current leaders AC Milan.
And speaking ahead of tonight’s delayed trip to Fiorentina, due to Inter’s participation in the World Club Cup, Leonardo insists the Nerazzurri cannot afford to make any more mistakes.
The Brazilian, whose side has only won two of their last seven away games, said: “We are not in a condition to make mistakes. Not just on Wednesday but in all of our remaining matches.”
He added: “We have to win and play well, this is what the team has to do.
“I don't think the players are tired or that there are any problems. We played on Sunday and we lost. That's the end of it.
“I don't believe my team has a problem playing away from home. In any case, we have to always impose our play regardless of where we play.”
While Inter slipped to the disappointing defeat against Juventus, hosts Fiorentin ran out 4-2 winners at Palermo.
