Lazio coach Edy Reja will be offered a contract extension, club president Claudio Lotito has confirmed.
Reja, whose current deal expires at the end of this season, has inspired a remarkable change in fortunes since taking charge of the Biancoceleste.
The 65-year-old guided Lazio out of the relegation zone to a mid-table finish in Serie A last season, and they are now closing in on a Champions League place as they currently sit fourth in the table during the current campaign.
And when quizzed about the future of Reja ahead of today’s trip to Cagliari, Lotito said: “He will absolutely be our coach next season.
“I chose him last year because I believed he had the potential to help our team improve, and he has done just that.
“He has a strong character and qualities which are able to lift the group, turning it into a winning one.”
Lazio head into this game on the back of 1-0 victory over Bari, while Cagliari were beaten by reigning Italian and European champions Inter Milan, 1-0.
