Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish is without three key men for tonight’s clash with Manchester City at Anfield. (kick-off 20.00 GMT)
Reds captain Steven Gerrard has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a groin injury and is joined on the sidelines by defensive trio Daniel Agger (knee), Glen Johnson and Martin Kelly (both hamstring).
Fabio Aurelio and Jonjo Shelvey have recovered from their respective injuries but this game comes too soon for them, although David Ngog could feature having made his return to action in the reserves last week following his appearance as an unused substitute in the defeat to West Brom.
Meanwhile, Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini will once more be without defenders Jerome Boateng (knee) and Micah Richards (hamstring).
Also missing for City, as they look for three points that would put them third in the Premier League, are Shay Given (shoulder) and Kolo Toure (suspended).
