David Luiz will make his first start for Premier League champions Chelsea when they make the short trip to Fulham this evening. (kick-off 20.00 GMT, live on Sky Sports 1)
Luiz, signed from Benfica on transfer deadline day, made his debut as a second-half substitute in last weekend’s defeat to Liverpool, and manager Carlo Ancelotti has now confirmed the Brazil international will be in his starting XI at Craven Cottage.
Jose Bosingwa could be the man to make way for Luiz, with Ancelotti revealing the player is doubtful with an unspecified injury, while Alex (knee) and Yuri Zhirkov (calf) remain sidelined.
And the Italian is expected to stick with the attacking trio of Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka despite their disappointing showing against Liverpool last time out.
Meanwhile, Fulham striker Bobby Zamora returned to action in a reserve game this week but it will be another few weeks before he is available for the first team following his broken leg.
Gael Kakuta cannot face his parent club, meaning he will be forced to watch the game with the likes of Dickson Etuhu (hamstring) and Philippe Senderos (Achilles).
