Player of the Month – Gareth Bale (Tottenham)
Only one man could possibly be named Football News’ Player of the Month for October – Mr Gareth Bale.
The Tottenham full-back, 21, has gone from second choice at White Hart Lane to the first name on Harry Redknapp’s team-sheet this season with a string of dazzling displays for Spurs.
The highlight of Bale’s month is easily his hat-trick against reigning Serie A and Champions League holders Inter Milan.
The Welshman scored two stunning virtuoso goals and produced another clinical finish as Spurs rallied from 4-0 down to lose 4-3 at the San Siro.
Previous winners: Andy Carroll (August), Peter Odemwingie (September).
Manager of the Month – David Moyes (Everton)
Everton exited the Premier League’s relegation zone and surged into the top 10 with three wins and one draw in October, earning David Moyes our Manager of the Month award.
The Toffees began the month by beating Birmingham to record their first victory since August 25th, and they then claimed the Merseyside bragging rights by beating Liverpool 2-0 at Goodison Park.
A creditable draw at Tottenham followed, and Yakubu’s goal against Stoke at the weekend ensured Everton ended the month in winning fashion.
