David Luiz is set for an immediate recall when Premier League champions Chelsea play host to Wigan Athletic on Saturday. (kick-off 15.00 GMT)
Luiz was cup-tied for the midweek Champions League defeat to Manchester United, but he is expected to make an immediate return to the starting XI with Branislav Ivanovic likely to make way.
Yossi Benayoun could make his return from an Achilles injury that has kept him out since September, but the game may come too soon for Alex following a knee problem.
Meanwhile, Wigan Athletic captain Gary Caldwell is expected to start despite needed emergency dental treatment this week following a facial injury he suffered during the draw with Tottenham.
January signing Conor Sammon will be hoping for his first start for the Latics having made three substitute appearances since joining from Kilmarnock.
