Fernando Torres is poised to make his Chelsea debut against former club Liverpool on Sunday. (kick-off 16.00 GMT, live on Sky Sports 1)
Torres left Merseyside for the Premier League champions in a British record £50m deal on Monday and is set for an immediate reunion with his old team-maters.
Fellow transfer deadline day signing David Luiz is also available and could partner John Terry in the centre of Chelsea’s defence, with Alex still sidelined by a knee injury.
Meanwhile, forward Luis Suarez, one of the men Liverpool are hoping will fill the void left by Torres, could make his first start having scored on his debut in midweek.
Fellow big-money buy Andy Carroll remains out with a thigh injury, joining Jay Spearing (foot) on the sidelines.
And Reds boss Kenny Dalglish has doubts over the fitness of former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole (knee) and Christian Poulsen (back).
