Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle is hoping Stewart Holden will be fit to face Lancashire rivals Blackburn on Saturday. (kick-off 13.30 GMT, live on Sky Sports 1).
United States international midfielder Holden has missed the last two games with a thigh injury but is in contention for the clash with Rovers.
However, Wanderers remain without Sean Davies and Joey O’Brien due to their respective knee injuries.
Blackburn welcome back defender Martin Olsson from a hamstring injury that has kept him on the sidelines for the last six weeks.
But boss Sam Allardyce remains without a string of midfielders because of injury; Keith Andrew, Vince Grella (both groin) and Steven Nzonzi (hamstring).
