Bolton Wanderers 3 West Ham 0

Football News Staff - 9 Apr 2011
Daniel Sturridge bagged a brace as Bolton Wanderers warmed up for their FA Cup semi-final with a 3-0 win over West Ham.

A home victory never looked in doubt once Kevin Davies flicked on Johan Elmander’s long throw for on-loan striker Sturridge to curl a sublime shot into the top corner on 14 minutes.

Davies should have doubled Wanderers’ lead moments later only to fire wide with only Robert Green to beat, but a second goal did come quick and on 20 minutes Lee Chung-Yong got on the end of Martin Petrov’s cross to head home.

Sturridge then wrapped up the points six minutes into the second half when poor defending allowed the in-form forward to stroll into the penalty area and fire a shot into the bottom corner.

The Hammers, to their credit, tried to get something out of the game but Demba Ba clattered the upright before Manuel Da Costa’s header was cleared off the line.
