Blackburn Rovers v Birmingham City preview

Football News Staff - 8 Apr 2011

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Steven Nzonzi will miss Saturday’s visit of Birmingham City to Ewood Park. (kick-off 15.00 GMT)

Nzonzi begins a three-match ban having been sent off during the goalless draw with Birmingham City last weekend, but Rovers do welcome back Gael Givet from a ban of his own.

Morten Gamst Pedersen has overcome illness in time to face Blues, but the midfield trio of Keith Andrews (groin), David Dunn (hip) and Vince Grella (Achilles) are all sidelined.

Meanwhile, Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish has concerns over forwards Nikola Zigic (groin and hip) and Obafemi Martins (groin) and both men will undergo fitness tests.

But definitely absent from the trip to Lancashire are Martin Jiranek (toe), Scott Dann (hamstring), James McFadden (knee) and former Blackburn winger David Bentley (groin).
