Aston Villa v Newcastle United preview

Football News Staff - 10 Apr 2011
A depleted Newcastle United side makes the trip to Aston Villa for Sunday afternoon’s match. (kick-off 16.00 GMT)

The Magpies will be missing James Perch, Cheik Tiote and Kevin Nolan through suspension, while an ankle injury has ruled out striker Leon Best for the rest of the campaign.

Hatem Ben Arfa is continuing his recovery from a broken leg, meaning the French winger joins Dan Gosling (knee) and Alan Smith (ankle) on the sidelines.

On-loan Stephen Ireland is unable to face his parent club, but Ryan Taylor returns from suspension and Jose Enrique has overcome a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, under-fire Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier has the luxury of a fully-fit squad to choose from as the Midlands outfit look to secure three crucial points in the fight against relegation.

And Villa are boosted by the return of young midfielder Ciaran Clark who has now served his two-match suspension.
