Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor has hinted he could extend his stay at St James’ Park.
The 24-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, was placed on the transfer market earlier this season after failing to agree new terms.
But new Magpies boss Alan Pardew recently revealed he had held talks with Taylor over a contract extension, and the former England U21 international has now suggested he could remain with the club.
He told the Daily Star: “It's been a difficult year for me with injuries, but it looks as if it could be finishing on a high.”
Taylor continued: “I have been very impressed with the new manager. Since he came in, he has been absolutely spot-on.
“Within a day or two, he sat me down in his office and made it clear he wants me to be here. It was music to my ears.
“Everyone knows how much I want to stay here, so for him to say he will do everything he can for me was brilliant.”
