Manchester United defender Rafael da Silva has admitted a charge of improper conduct.
The 20-year-old full-back was hit with the FA charge for his reaction to being sent off during the goalless draw at Tottenham on Sunday.
Rafael, who was booked for a lunging challenge on Wilson Palacios before receiving a second yellow card for clipping the heels of Benoit Assou-Ekotto, launched a verbal tirade at referee Mike Dean before kicking over a pitch-side television sound boom as he left the field.
And the Brazilian has now admitted: “I have accepted the charge because what I did was wrong.
”It happened because I was so frustrated at being sent off in such an important game. I apologise for my behaviour.”
Rafael is certain to now miss this weekend’s home game against Birmingham City, and a disciplinary panel will decide on Friday if the youngster will receive additional ban which would rule him out of the meeting with Blackpool.
