Manchester United winger Nani claims only Chelsea can prevent his team from winning the Premier League title.
This season’s title race looks set to be more wide open than in previous years with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham expected to be in the mix.
But Portugal international Nani has written off the chances of those three clubs being in the running for English football’s biggest prize, insisting that only champions Chelsea are capable of mounting a challenge.
He said: “I no longer see anybody winning the Premier League this season outside of Manchester United or Chelsea. Hopefully, it will be United.”
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has responded to those comments in sarcastic fashion at a press conference, saying: “Everybody has a different opinion in this league and nobody is perfect.
“We live in a society where everybody knows everything and it is a shame to say, 'I don't know'.
“I personally don't know who will win the league and I have managed 1600 games. If Nani knows he must be 1600 times more intelligent than I am.”
