Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher has become the latest player to commit his future to the club.
Scotland international Fletcher has put pen-to-paper on a new deal that will keep him at Old Trafford until 2015, following Ryan Giggs, Patrice Evra and Michael Carrick in agreeing contract extensions.
And the 27-year-old, who came through United’s academy system, told the club’s official website: “I take great pride in playing for Manchester United.
“I have won many trophies in my years playing here and I am looking forward to winning many more in the seasons to come.”
And manager Sir Alex Ferguson added: “Darren has been at the club since he was 15 years old. I am extremely proud that he came through the ranks of our youth academy.
“I am delighted Darren has signed a new contract, he has developed into a top-class midfielder.”
Fletcher has made 288 appearances for the Red Devils since making his first-team debut in 2003, and in that time he has won three Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup and two League Cups.
