Manchester United midfielder Anderson has committed himself to the club by signing a new contract until 2015.
The 22-year-old had struggled to make much of an impact at Old Trafford since his 2007 move from Portuguese side FC Porto, leading to speculation he could be moved on in the future.
But Anderson has responded with some impressive performances in recent weeks, and manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes there is much more to come from the Brazilian.
He told the club’s official website: "We are delighted Anderson has signed a new contract.
“Anderson has developed tremendously since joining the club and he has fantastic potential at only 22 years of age, he is going to be a really top player.”
Anderson added: “This is the best club to be at and I would like to thank everyone for the great support I have received over the years.
“I am looking forward to winning many more trophies with this club and I am so pleased to have signed a new contract.”
