Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor will miss the Europa League-opening trip to face Red Bull Salzburg tonight. (kick-off 18.00 BST, live on ESPN)
The former Togo international has failed to recover from a dead leg, meaning Carlos Tevez and Jo are the only forwards available to manager Roberto Mancini.
Also on the sidelines is defender Joleon Lescott (groin) so full-back Wayne Bridge could make his first appearance of the season after recovering from an ankle problem.
City goalkeeper Joe Hart is expected to continue between the sticks despite his blunder in the 1-1 Premier League draw with Blackburn at the weekend.
