Simon Dawkins is set to make his first start for San Jose Earthquakes when they entertain FC Dallas this evening.
Dawkins arrived on loan from English Premier League side Tottenham last week and less than 24 hours later found himself making a substitute appearance in the 1-0 defeat to Real Salt Lake.
And, with the Earthquakes looking to pick up their first points of the 2011 Major League Soccer campaign, coach Frank Yallop will turn to Dawkins in the absence of Khari Ferguson.
Yallop told MLSsoccer.com: “I think he’s going to bring his energy, his busyness, his clean feet – all the things we liked with him. I have really high expectations of him.”
While San Jose look to bounce back from the loss to Salt Lake, FC Dallas are looking to follow up their season-opening draw with Chicago Fire.
